The story

Founded in 1891

The story of St Patrick’s Academy is, above all, the story of its people. Since the foundation of the school in 1891, generations of young men and women have passed through its doors, carrying with them the values, ambitions and spirit that have shaped our Academy for well over a century. From the original school buildings on the Killyman Road, the campus overlooking the Killymeal Road, to our current home on the site of the former sports pitches, St Patrick’s Academy has provided an education to thousands of pupils, preparing them to make their mark on the world.

Across every decade of our history, our alumni have distinguished themselves through outstanding achievement and service. They have excelled in fields as diverse as education, medicine, engineering, business, science, public service, the arts, sport and community leadership. At home and abroad, former pupils of St Patrick’s Academy have made significant contributions to society, earning recognition for their talent, dedication and commitment while remaining proud ambassadors for their school.
